Confirmed Covid-19 cases at Queen Mary

Active, confirmed cases are reported on a daily basis across our UK-based staff and student population. ‘Active’ means that the individuals concerned have received a positive test result from an NHS PCR test and are either within the 10-day self-isolation period or are still showing symptoms.

Numbers will be updated every weekday by 6pm.

We currently have 5 active cases of Covid-19 amongst students, and 4 among staff.

Queen Mary has over 23,000 students based in the UK and more than 4,600 permanent members of staff.

If further information is needed please email and we will respond as quickly as possible.

January 2021 National Lockdown

The Government has announced a new national lockdown for England will be in place until at least mid-February. This means everyone in England must stay home apart for certain exempt reasons.

Our campuses remain open, including all our research facilities, and our residences, study space and catering outlets which will remain open and available to any staff or students who need to use them.

Education will now be online for most subject areas until at least mid-February. Subject areas that can start in-person teaching are mostly in our Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, and in these areas Institutes are communicating with their students directly.

In response to the impact of the latest national lockdown, we have offered all undergraduate students in University-owned accommodation a 30% reduction of the full remaining term of their residential licence agreement and a comparable offer for postgraduates.
